Ullswater Choir

As an integral part of Cumbria Rural Choirs, this group previously existed as an Adult evening class at UIllswater School – hence its name.  It became an independent choral group in 1976 and has since rehearsed in other venues, presently meeting at Christ Church , Penrith on Tuesdays at 7.15pm .

Our members, some of whom have been with us since 1976 come from various parts of Eden District and further afield.  During the season from September to March we study the current work to be performed by CRC at Carlisle Sands Centre at the end of the season, and dependent on our numbers give concerts, usually at Christmas, in some of the smaller villages in the rural community – Pooley Bridge, Great Salkeld, Lazonby, High Hesket, Shap and Renwick to name but a few.

Many of our members have served on the main committee of Rural Choirs in the post of Chairman, Treasurer and Librarian and have influenced many of its major decisions.
